He made a pained gesture for a moment but as usual remained quiet, and led her to the bathroom, however, for her to feel safe enough he nodded and left the room, closing the door, as the only bathroom in the house was in his bedroom.

You better stay away” he thought to himself as he crossed his arms and stayed agaisn’t the bedroom’s door “Stay here” he mumbled for himself.

Though it must have taken close to an hour to cool off and bathe, she dried her hair and re-dressed, her wings cleaned and picked of loose feathers. She felt slightly less feverish and ill, though upon looking in the mirror, saw herself still as pale as she had felt shivering in bed.

He couldn’t comment to that only walked out of the room after nodding at her, then came back and handed her a few towels that were soft and white, offering his hand at her so she could stand up.

She propped herself up, outstretching one arm to her side to elevate herself from the mattress  grabbing onto his hand with both of her own to stand up with some pain, though not much difficulty.

He stared for a moment before walking up to her again and placing his hand on her head “You need a bath, it could calm you a little, and lower your temperature.” he almost murmured, his voice sounded like speaking now hurt, physically.

She curled up tighter, trying to control her slight shakes, “… Alright.”

He shrugged and kept quiet, then turned to her “You need someone better.” he mumbled, maybe it had been for himself, but it was hard to say what he meant by that before he stood up and headed for the door “Do you need anything?”

She glanced up and looked away in hesitation to answer, then thinking it best not to say anything. However, a quiet, “I don’t know,” slipped her tongue.

He couldn’t speak very much to be honest, but he did something he found himself doing before he could stop.

“Something similar happened to me before, I understand how you feel but somehow you are luckier than me already, you are not wounded and you are in a safe place…” he shrugged and then looked at the door “It’s not easy being me … I feel permanently in pain and overwhelmed and I just …” he looked at her and then looked down “Sorry I musn’t speak about this.”

She nodded a bit, seeming more at ease, “I-I understand.”

The next morning he neared her bedroom and was able to see through the doorframe that she looked ill, he just neared the girl, entering the room after knocking on it softly “Are you not feeling well?” he asked, his voice a little softer than usual, just as deep as always.

“You seem rather pale…” he said as he placed his hand on her forehead and gently placed it on her head afterwards, as he’d do when she was a child, almost patting it. “I believe you are ill.”

She felt nervous and uneasy, her skin feverish but she was slightly calmed, no longer tense. She spoke quietly in response, “I’m… I’m not ill, I just feel…” Rachel paused, looking for the right word before her final reply, “I’m overwhelmed.”

After a while, around midnight or so, Seres stood up from the table and walked to his room, sighing bitterly when he opened the door that led to it, it was just as he had left it the night before, he sat down on the edge of his bed and took the pillow that was closest to him, hugging it gently and looking at the wooden floor under his shoes.

“Shadow” he mumbled, and as he did, a small dog like creature appeared before him “Report?” he asked, with a sigh to accompany those words, he had given up on Rachel’s mother and her brothers, but the creature remained silent.

“The search is still active” it simply replied, before dissapearing before him, to this he simply sighed again and laid down on the bed, putting the pillow on his face.

“She doesn’t feel okay here…” he mumbled to himself “What are you doing show some emotion…” he continued, “Stop being so cold you stupid thing…”

After a few minutes of saying this, he fell asleep.

{ haha, Grenda, Rhea and Rachel’s father might still be alive hint hint }

She stayed up through the night without quite knowing so, though not surprised when she saw the sun set and seemingly only a couple short hours later, the un rising again through the window.

She looked overall weak and slightly pale, though she didn’t feel hunger, instead a dull, nauseous pain in her abdomen like she were going to be sick, feeling weary and light-headed as she remained stationary in the room, occasionally drifting into a brief unconscious rest in which she would mumble things in her sleep or cough softly.

He shook his head just a little “I sent an spy to look for any survivors of your family, but he should have been back by now if they were all dead.” he said, just loud enough for her to notice, and he went back to his book, like it weren’t such a big deal.

After she’d finished her soup, she lost her appetite for the remainder of the day and felt slightly ill when he’d ask if she were hungry. She wasn’t tired, not after sleeping nearly an entire day away since last night.

She curled up on the bed in the spare room, breathing deeply to calm herself, feeling exhausted and petrified. She remembered this place much differently. different than the lack of emotion and comfort she was feeling, and she knew that she wasn’t safe here.

He remained silent for a bit more until she was done, he picked up the plate and walked away, walking right back after a bit “If you need anything let me know” he said, and unfortunately a thunder rose, and rain began falling, he looked out the window for a moment ” … ” he shrugged.

“He’s not back yet” he mumbled to himself.

Rachel remained quiet before piping up, “Who isn’t back?”

Seres didn’t as much as make a noise while she ate nor looked at her, he simply kept to his own affair, until he noticed the wings “Are you fine now?”

She nodded, continuing to silently sip her soup.

Finally he stood up from his seatment in front of the table and walked away into the kitchen again, coming out almost fourty minutes later with a warm plate of vegetable soup, which had a very alluring smell, but just one for her, he placed in the table and sat down on the other side, grabbing the book he had been working on so far and began reading it.

She looked at the bowl of soup and gingerly took a sip from the spoon, lazily allowing her wings to flop to her sides, then continued to drink her soup.
